Virginia is developing statewide multimodal transportation recommendations, and your input is needed! On behalf of the Virginia Office of Intermodal Planning and Investment (OIPI), the NVTA is hosting a VTRANS Open House at 12:30 pm on Thursday, January 26, 2017, at the NVTA’s offices.
The Virginia Office of Intermodal Planning and Investment, alongside local stakeholders, has developed draft recommendations for the VTrans2025 Multimodal Transportation Plan (VMTP). The VMTP 2025 Needs for Corridors of Statewide Significance (CoSS), Regional Networks and Urban Development Areas (UDAs) were developed in 2015. These 2025 Needs were consolidated across different travel markets and divided into three tiers. The 2025 draft project recommendations for the Tier 1 needs have been developed. These draft recommendations will be available for review and discussion at 12:30 PM on January 26, 2017. Please plan to attend and provide your input!
The recommendations in the VMTP 2025 will be presented to the Commonwealth Transportation Board mid-year in 2017. As you may know, all Smart Scale project applications must demonstrate a need identified in the 2025 VMTP Needs assessment. While future Smart Scale applications will not be limited to the VMTP 2025 Project Recommendations, these projects will reflect the most strategic responses to the 2025 Needs. This Open House will be an important opportunity to share your input on these strategic investment recommendations!
Your input is important and we will keep you informed of additional forums for participating in this process as they become available.
