Six-Year Plan

On January 10, 2008, the NVTA approved a list of projects to be funded by the taxpayers of Northern Virginia. NVTA Announces Proposed Initial Project List

    TransAction2030--Transportation for Today and Tomorrow

The TransAction 2030 Regional Transportation Plan identifies critical transportation projects over the next 25 years that will require funding beyond the $12 billion estimated as needed for the region's Constrained Long-Range Plan, which includes all the transportation projects in the Washington metropolitan area expected to be funded in the next 25 years.

The plan was approved by the Northern Virginia Transportation Authority Board in November 2006 following review and approval by the nine local government members of the Authority.

The study resulted in a project list totaling more than $15 billion in capital costs and $1.2 billion in operations and preservation over the next 25 years. The projects evaluated were deemed essential to decreasing travel times and reducing crowded conditions for both highway travel and the region's transit systems.
