NVTA Moves into New Office Location

The Northern Virginia Transportation Authority (NVTA) is pleased to announce its official move to a newly renovated office suite on the sixth floor of Metro Place Two, located at 2600 Park Tower Drive, Vienna, Virginia, 22180. Designed to meet NVTA's current needs and accommodate future growth, this new office suite features dedicated conference rooms for meetings and events, as well as modern, collaborative workspaces.

Monica Backmon, Chief Executive Officer, NVTA, expressed her excitement, stating, "I am so proud NVTA now has a beautiful new suite equipped with expansive conference rooms, advanced meeting technology, individual offices for all staff members, collaborative workspaces and more. This space will allow us to grow and thrive as an organization as we advance projects that reduce congestion and improve the quality of life of Northern Virginia residents."

The search for a new NVTA office began last year. NVTA began the search with the assistance of Divaris Real Estate Inc. to find the ideal space. Once a suitable location was identified, NVTA's Finance Committee and the full Authority board reviewed and approved the proposed term sheet in September 2023. This approval allowed NVTA to finalize plans and schedule the completion of construction for the new suite.

In February 2024, NVTA signed a lease with COPT Defense Properties, marking the beginning of a new chapter. After residing at 3040 Williams Drive for a decade, NVTA relocated to a temporary space on the second floor of Metro Place Two in March. The leasing agreement was expertly coordinated with Jason Krawiecki, Vice President of Asset Management and Leasing, COPT Defense Properties.

In March, NVTA resumed normal operations on the second floor, while extensive renovations occurred on the sixth floor in preparation for NVTA's arrival. Led by Steve Hernandez, Superintendent, Bognet Construction, the office was successfully delivered on time in August, allowing NVTA to take occupancy on August 20th.

NVTA expects to hold its first Authority business meeting in the new conference room on October 10th. Additionally, NVTA is excited to host two major events: the 9th Annual Northern Virginia Transportation Roundtable on October 9th and the Inaugural State of the Region's Transportation Network event on October 30th. NVTA looks forward to welcoming Northern Virginia into its new office space.
